My name is Oleg. For the first half of my life, I could not imagine myself anywhere near surfing or standing on a surfboard.

It all started in September 2008 when my friend, a preeminent wrestling coach and world champion, Valentin Kalika, dragged me to the beach and put me on a Wavestorm surfboard. After some struggling with keeping my balance and paddling, I got caught up by a wave that picked me up and threw back to shore. As I was holding rails all the time and had no idea how to stop the board, I got smacked and scrapped my knuckles . . . and immediately fell in love with surfing!

Since then, I’ve been surfing on regular basis at least a few times a week, but as often as I can.

Eventually I came up with an idea to marry surfing with my other passion – photography.
